Garmin Reactor™ 40 Autopilot for hydraulic steering systems with SmartPump v2
The most responsive and accurate autopilot ever
9-axis solid-state Attitude Heading Reference System (AHRS) compass
Reduction of deviation and course errors, rudder movement with lower power consumption
It is easy to install and super simple to calibrate
SmartPump v2, compact and brushless, fits most boats with hydraulic steering
Patented Shadow Drive™ technology helps maintain control of the boat if the situation calls for a quick maneuver or emergency procedure
It represents an indispensable aid during navigation such as when it is necessary to leave the helm to devote oneself to other activities or to control other devices on board. Discover the performance of the innovative hydraulic autopilot by associating it with the versatile, reliable and innovative SmartPump v21.
Solid state 9-axis AHRS technology
The advanced 9-axis solid-state AHRS technology makes the system easy to install and extremely simple to calibrate, thus minimizing heading errors, course deviations, rudder movements and energy consumption, allowing anyone on board to navigate more comfortably.
Full integration with Garmin chartplotters
You can have complete control of the Reactor 40 from the chartplotter screen. Optional features are available in combination with a compatible Garmin network chartplotter and BlueChart® g2 Vision® charts, such as Auto Guidance,2 which allows you to automatically steer following GPS routes.
SmartPump Actuator v2
The unique SmartPump v2 actuator fits most boats with hydraulic steering. The new Reactor 40 with SmartPump automatically adjusts the maximum flow rate and thanks to a brushless motor, the direct electrical connection between the control circuit and the rotor is avoided. This guarantees greater reliability, longer life of the pump, reduction of consumption, silence, better thermal performance and greater efficiency. To achieve the ultimate in reliability, the SmartPump features corrosion resistant components including black paint on aluminum parts and nickel plating on all steel parts.
Particularly suitable for installation on boats with Mercury Verado engines.
Intelligent Rudder Rate technology
Using Intelligent Rudder Rate (IRRT) technology, the Reactor 40 autopilot with SmartPump v2 slows the rudder speed when the boat is traveling at high speeds and accelerates it when at slower speeds (0 to 2.4 liters per minute ). This allows you to optimize performance and safety in all conditions. In addition, the brushless motor eliminates the risk of rudder "hard over" avoiding possible hardware or software failure.
Enjoy a more durable system
The conditions in the navigation environments are difficult, especially at sea. This is why our SmartPump v2 is protected from the elements. SmartPump v2 is designed with anti-corrosion components, including anodized aluminum and nickel-plated steel parts.
State-of-the-art autopilot technology
Thanks to Reactor 40 with SmartPump v2 on board the boat, you can have complete control wherever you are on the boat. In addition to keeping course in all weather and wind conditions, the system can easily perform a number of pre-programmed trolling and searching procedures. Plus, with a compatible Garmin network chartplotter and BlueChart g2 Vision charts (sold separately), optional features are available, such as Auto Guidance,2 which allows you to steer automatically following GPS courses.
Always stay in control with Shadow Drive technology
Reactor 40 with SmartPump v2 features Shadow Drive technology. This way you have everything under control even when the autopilot is engaged. Shadow Drive technology automatically disengages the autopilot with each turn of the helm, allowing you to steer your vessel. The autopilot is automatically reactivated when maintaining a stable course.
Connecting to devices on the network
The Reactor 40 Autopilot with SmartPump v2 for hydraulically steered vessels is operated using up to 3 GHC control units. The GHC communicates with the autopilot system via the NMEA 2000® network, allowing easy sharing of autopilot heading data with other devices. This turns on MARPA and the map overlay when connected to a Garmin chartplotter. An optional handheld wireless remote is also available; however, for the ultimate in convenience, control the GHC with a compatible quatix® 3 or quatix 5 marine multisport smartwatch.
GRF™ 10 sensor
Add an optional GRF™10 rudder angle sensor to further enhance the performance of your Reactor 40 autopilot with SmartPump v2.
