Garmin Radar Fantom Open Array
GMR 254/256
HIGH POWER RADAR
The 250 Watt radar offers a range ranging from a minimum of 6 meters to a maximum of 96 nautical miles (177 km).
All Fantom GMR radars maintain the same performance even in the presence of fog or rain. They are capable of providing rotation speeds of 24 RPM for low power consumption and 48 RPM for quick screen updates.
Horizontal beam width of 1.8 ° with 4 'foot scanner and 1.25 ° with 6' foot scanner provide high resolution images and high antenna gain to detect faint targets even from a distance.
MOTIONSCOPE TECHNOLOGY
MotionScope uses the Doppler effect to highlight moving targets in different colors so you can navigate around other vessels or in bad weather, or to fishing spots where flocks eat on the surface.
INTUITIVE OPERATION
This radar has no complex user settings to manage and offers maximum ease of installation and use.
Adjust the size of the objects on the radar image.
Look for flocks of birds on the surface of the water, where bait is likely to be found as well.
With ECHO TRAIL technology it allows you to leave a “trace” on the screen to allow quick and easy identification of moving targets and possible collision threats.
A single radar antenna can provide split screen images on the chartplotter for near and far ranges (double range),
thanks to the use of a dual radar, it is possible to obtain data redundancy and the possibility for each display on the vessel to obtain data from one of two different radar sources.
Thanks to the DYNAMIC AUTO GAIN which allows you to automatically adjust the optimal settings of the gain levels for harbors, close coasts and deep water in the open sea you will have greater discrimination of details.
It also features DYNAMIC SEA FILTER technology that automatically adjusts the sea clutter for calm sea conditions, with moderate and rough swell.
RADAR OVERLAY allows you to superimpose radar images on the chartplotter map page. For best results, you can add an optional heading sensor or autopilot (sold separately).
The MARPA (Mini-automatic radar plotting aid) function allows you to detect up to 10 selected targets, to track other vessels and avoid collisions.
It is possible to set the safety zone and to receive an alarm when an object enters the zone so as to increase the degree of safety
VRM AND EBL
Variable range markers (VRMs) and electronic bearing lines (EBLs) allow quick measurements of the distance and heading of vessels and land.
