Simrad RS20S VHF Radio
With integrated GPS
Low profile fixed mount 25W DSC VHF radio with integrated GPS and NMEA 2000® connectivity.
An easy-to-use radio on any boat See clearly in bright daylight with a high-contrast white-on-black display and reverse white-on-black mode. A rotary knob simplifies channel selection, while large buttons provide quick access to other key functions. The keys dedicated to channel 16, both on the radio and on the ergonomic microphone, offer instant access to the emergency channel. An included gimbal bracket allows you to easily install the radio on a table, pendant or wall. Recessed installation is also possible with a simple front mounting solution that allows you to adapt to the low profile of Glass Bridge displays and accessories.
Approved Class D DSC device DSC (Digital Selective Calling) functionality allows you to easily maintain communications with other vessels and transmit your vessel's position in the event of an emergency. In case of difficulty, the dedicated rescue button on the RS20 radio initiates a DSC distress call that sends the position of your boat to anyone in the VHF coverage area. When performed in conjunction with a standard radio distress call, this feature allows other vessels using DSC compatible radios to record the situation and come to the rescue. A built-in GPS receiver gives you the ability to send your location, even if the other electronic equipment on board is out of order.
Easy access to all international channels The RS20S radio is designed for global use and supports all international channels. With the Tri Watch function you can easily scan between the current channel, distress channel 16 and another user-configurable priority channel (in the US, you can scan between the current channel, distress channel 16 and the call channel 9). Alternatively, you can scan all available channels or only selected favorite channels. Emergency channels can be prioritized during scanning to reduce the possibility of missing distress calls or other urgent safety-related messages.
