Simrad Radio VHF RS40S AIS
With integrated GPS and AIS
Fixed installation DSC VHF radio with integrated AIS receiver, GPS and wireless handset support.
Integrated GPS and AIS receivers A two-channel AIS receiver monitors the position of nearby AIS-equipped vessels, helping to avoid possible collisions in crowded harbors and inland waterways. AIS information can be displayed on the integrated RS40 radio screen or superimposed on the chart or radar screen via a compatible multifunction display. An integrated GPS receiver ensures that the position of the boat or yacht can be sent during DSC distress calls, even if the remaining electronic equipment on board is out of order.
Removable ergonomic grip microphone The RS40 radio's detachable ergonomic plug microphone can be attached to the front or rear of the radio, while optional extension cables allow you to install the radio and microphone separately. This ensures a simple and cost-effective solution for any installation location, without the tangle of cables. For example, the RS40 radio can be installed in suspension, with no cables hanging down, while the microphone is plugged into an extension socket on the dashboard.
Expandable with wireless handset Add an optional wireless handset to take the radio anywhere on the boat. The HS40 handset has been designed as an intuitive portable companion to the RS40 radio. Each handset duplicates the radio display and controls, allowing remote access to all key functions. Up to two wireless handsets can be connected to a single base station. With multiple handsets connected, the RS40 radio also becomes a practical on-board intercom.
